As 003 said v-sync introduces a ton of input lag, which may appear or feel like messing with the accel. AFAIK there is no solution, simply keep it turned off – I wouldn’t use it for any FPS’er. Just when i move the mouse a lot or turn a quick 180 move i might see it a bit more blurry.. I can’t really see differences between vsync on and off.. Vsync is a technology promoted by Intel and Nvidia.

A 3D engine is then all about clever optimizations to approximate photorealistic rendering with the fewer resources possible. It’s a battle, or a game for some, against the machine to use its power in the most efficient way. We can also consider that 3D engines are cheating. Textures are higher resolution, and models are higher polygon counts, then they were 15 years ago, yes.

With 10 cores 4.o gig 128 gig of ram and a nvidia 1080 gx with 6 tera flops. Thats what they test the game on and it runs flawless. They see what lower specs it will run on but thats it, run, they dont say anything about actually working on them.

V-Sync stands for Vertical synchronization or synchronizing with the vertical refresh rate of the monitor. As explained before, almost all monitors run at a fixed refresh rate of 60 Hz. By default, your monitor will ask to your GPU to provide a new frame every 16.6ms. Then, it will draw it on screen line by line from the top to the bottom. I noticed the stutter a lot on this week’s Sebring challenge and on a free run of Rio. Very off-putting since my game runs at a very high framerate. Although I did have another problem after the last update – the Rio track would not load at all or just crash as soon as 3 seconds after the start of the race. Once I managed to slip through the imminent crash, what I found is there were no meshes for the streets of Rio, yet the collision boxes were there. The only way to resolve the issue was to reinstall the game. And that is a 18Gb download, just to fix one track.

If you really want the smoothness of v-sync at your full refresh rate, then maybe lower your graphics settings a bit. When vsync is not enabled, nothing more than double buffering is needed for performance, but a render queue can still be used to smooth framerate if it requires a few old frames to be kept around. This can keep instantaneous framerate from dipping in some cases, but will add lag and input latency. As for the client mod’s not doing anything it does have an effect in smoothing framerate and decreases the loss of fps but if your running one of the top video cards it might not make any difference for example. If the card you have is giving you over 60 fps like 80 fps with the client lag it might drop you 20% or more so you’d still be at 60 fps.

In a nutshell, the graphic card is generating a new frame and stores it inside a buffer. It’s been a long time since we’re often using a double buffer rendering approach. While one buffer is read and sent to the monitor to be displayed, a second buffer is used to compute the next frame. Once the first buffer has been sent to the monitor, the second buffer became the primary buffer to be used by the monitor and the first one become the cache buffer for the next frame.

4K is not really worth it for a gamer, especially with the low refresh rate. Some minor issues such as Fallout 4 being designed to run at 60FPS. I’m not sure how that game works with GSYNC ON with a non-60Hz panel to boot, however I believe the ideal setting would be GSYNC ON but capped at 60FPS for that game only. There should be a way to CAP but I don’t have a GSYNC monitor.

Call it whatever it needs, but it needs a “V-sync” option… If forcing vsyn doesn’t work, I think with Nvidia Inspector you can set max fps. I know with MSI Afterburner, you can set a max fps for programs and video games.

240 FPS – Manageable only by the fastest 240 Hz monitors, 240 FPS is as high as modern-day displays can go. Most games should automatically launch on the more powerful GPU. So, if you’re playing a game with a low frame rate, the display feature will standby as it’s likely not necessary. I can run the game fine there is no lag or anything, however, when i move my mouse around to the screen dosen’t move “smoothy” not sure how to explain, but it’s like the whole screen don’t move at the same time… So I doubt that you will get banned for changing some the .ini file settings.

S1Option.ini is just a notepad file of your in-game chosen options. The only reason to edit S1Option.ini would be if you wanted to change an in-game graphic/interface option outside of the client. You can open it up and take a look at the settings and you’ll understand what I mean. Ok let me start off by saying I spent literally 20+ hours turning .ini settings on and off, and adjusting and testing Nvidia Inspector options. Everytime I made a change I had to restart the client.

I was astonished to find nearly NO search results when typing in “TERA” and “SLi” I think there was only one thread I found on a random website, and it strayed off topic before giving much info. So I had to fiddle with the compatibility setting to see if Nvidia had truly selected the correct SLi profile. So, if you want to have any real form of AA and you are an Nvidia user, you have to set AA compatiblity to 0x000100C5 in the Nvidia Inspector. En Masse if you’re reading this, I’d recommend you give the players a real AA option and use this hex code. So some of you might ask, “Why force AA when you can just change “Lighting Enrichment” option to 2 and get it.” Well that is not real AA.

I finally upgraded my motheboard+cpu on december and this solved the fraywind problem. “Texture Resolution changed due to 32-bit system.
